Assignment 19A – Create a Customer Avatar

My product would be available for those students, workers and residents of Gainesville who rely on public transportation.

But going in more details the individual I chose lives in Gainesville, she is originally from Miami but she goes to The University of Florida, she is 20 years old and is in her junior year of college. She drives her car since she was 16 years old, but now, she faces the challenge of transportation because there is a lack of parking spots at the university. She does have her car in Gainesville, she uses her car to go to gym and when she needs some groceries.  She lives 4 miles away from campus. Her first class is at 11:00 am and her last one is at 6:00pm, so walking is not a solution to get to her classes on time. Another choice, is to take an Uber or Lyft every day, which isn’t going to be affordable, right? So, her last and only resource would be to use public transportation. But the bus doesn’t work after her last class has finished. And there is where my idea would take place on…

What do I have in common with her?

I have in common the same need, buses working after 6:00pm, I don’t live that far away from campus, so I can walk on the day, but at 8:00pm I don’t feel safe to walk alone 20 minutes.

Is that a coincidence?

I think many students have the same unmet need, so I don’t think it is a coincidence. You can have this meet for many reasons, or its raining (which is common here), or maybe you don’t feel safe walking alone at night, or maybe your home is far away from campus.
